OCTOBER 8
DAN(4-1)…31@23…LAZ(3-2)
For 30 minutes the Graveyard were seeing another defensive masterclass! 20-0 up at the half and the only scores
for the Bobcats was a fieldgoal from quarter 1 chalked off for a defensive stop on the tactics card. What occured in
the 2nd half from the Bobcats is nothing short of a perfection! Like buses, nothing comes for 7 years and then 2
come in 2 weeks!! The Bobcats bullseye BOTH the 3rd and 4th quarter as the final game of the night produces two
further 20 yard + touchdowns and brings it to the magical 13 that the Bobcats headcoach predicted and hoped for!
With ball in hand in the final 2 minutes leading by a just a single score of 28-23 the Bobcats then made sure of the
silence within the Graveyard to tack on extra 3 points in their 2 minute offence drive.
The Bobcats are for real in their rookie season. That's now 2 OFL Champions downed in the first 5 weeks as they
move to 4-1.
JAY(2-3)…7@34…CAR(2-3)
As two of the most unpredictable teams in the OFL met we should expect the unexpected! The Riverkings win all 4
quarters here and get their first victory at home afer 3 attempts. A 3rd ranked offence and 3rd ranked defence can
do nothing to halt the Riverkings here. Before this game the Juggernauts had a perfectly balanced history: 20
games 10 home wins and 10 road wins. They're now on catch up. The Riverkings are 13-7 on the season for
quarter wins and yet still can't muster a positive a win % yet.
STA(3-2)…17@30…HOG(2-3)
The Comancheros just can't win in the Sty. They take 3 out of the 4 quarters and only miss out on Q2 by 2 points.
The swines get within 10% on both the 3rd and 4th quarters to give the Comancheros no chance of a comeback. A
late 2 minute offence touchdown makes the score respectable for Stamina in this one, but the Swines make it back
to back wins and they are on the move.
JJ(0-5)…7@27…CRA(4-1)
This one went to form and it went to expectation, but that won't help the Jedi Knights cause as they manage a
touchdown in the 4th quarter in garbage time. The Patriots hit 2 predictions within 10% and move to 4-1 on the
season and take a further grip on the NFC North. They have the chance to tack on some extra insurance tonight
with the Chicago Bears running game from the armouries to add insult to growing injury for our 0-5 rookie wookie.
They will meet the 0-5 Devilimp Helldwellers next week - Something has to give, but someone will be 1 game away
from equalling the all-time worst start in the OFL too! No pressure.
BOR(1-4)…7@35…KAN(4-1)
AFC beats NFC again! In fact AFC whoops NFC in this one! The Bears are loving this season and now make it 7 wins
in the last 8 and with the Colts finally succumbing this weekend they join them at the top of the hugely fierce AFC
South! There's plenty of movement on the armoury front in this one as the Goldhawks do takeaway a fieldgoal
with the Miami Dolphins sacks 7 Ints, but the Bears dish their own out with the Carolina Panthers and then work
the points back with a touchdown from the Jacksonville Jaguars on rushing! Top, top play from the bears. The 4th
quarter is even a blown playbook from both franchises here as both are more than 100% away and so we see no
score in the 4th quarter. With an offence card on the 4th that actually meant 14 points to the Bears here.
Goldhawks, it could have been worse! It's a sad performance when considering it was the Goldhawks 100th OFL
game here. That's now 139 points given up in the last 4 games for the G'Hawks.
SUP(2-3)…3@41…GEC(4-1)
9 home wins this weekend across the OFL and the 6ers are another who take a clean sweep of quarters in their
match. 2 hits within 10% and a bullseye should more than satisfy any headcoach, but this one could hae actually
been very different with just a slight tweak to the Concordes playbook. Only 1 of 2 franchises to take 3 teams and
not 4 in the 2nd quarter question, their 3 picks actually only ended up 2 shy of the 6ers 4 picks and then only 1
BRU(2-3)…23@27…CHI(4-1)
About 23 other headcoaches would gladly trade their current win record with the Chargers right at this time after
they move to 4-1, but apparently even the great Pam Oliver was denied access to the Chargers dressing room
straight after the game. The headcoach is far from happy at the fact that they are not killing off teams and winning
games without huge doses of close calls and it's only a well played defensive stand in the 4th quarter that prevents
the Eagles from overturning a 21 point deficit from half time. The Chargers headcoaching staff want to see more
dominant performances and at the moment they aren't happening.
RJH(2-3)…23@14…DEV(0-5)
The Orangemen will be thanking the Houston Texans this morning as this one was going much closer than this.
Without the Houston Texan 2 touchdowns last night the Helldwellers were bullseyeing the final quarter. As it is the
Orangemen certify a road win with a fieldgoal in their 2 minute offence drive and move to 2-3. Next week they will
renew a much steeped rivalry against the 76ers at the Citrus Bowl. After a loss for the A'Bombs the NFC is now
tightening right back up as usual!!
DAN(1-4)…20@33…UND(5-0)
The Indians had this covered by half-time, but that wouldn't stop the Pirates putting together a blistering
second half that almost, almost had them stealing this from davy crocketts locker! Without the armoury
performance this was was actually 27-30 to the Indians and had it not been for another 2 touchdowns tacked on
by the Houston Texans this could have been the comeback of all comebacks! The Pirates have more hard luck
stories this season than the Black Pearl and they will honestly wonder how they sit 1-4! Can't deny the quality of
the only team still undefeated in the OFL after week 5 however. Chiefs in the NFL, Indians in the OFL - there's a
certain similarly to it!
GMA(3-2)…28@20…ABE(3-2)
The Apaches show their divisional champion qualities in a crucial divisional match up as they finally halt the
A'Bombs offensive firepower and both now sit 3-2. It was all about the 4th quarter this one as the A'Bombs
uncharacteristically fluffed their playbook and it would prove to be costly given the fact that the Kansas@Houston
game would bring the Apaches to within 10%. Depite a defensive card pulling the Apaches back to 5 points, GMAN
would then drive down the field with the 2 minute offence and secure a game winning touchdown. How crucial
could this quarter be in the bigger picture of the NFC West title?
SEV(2-2)…30@33…AWA(3-1) - OVERTIME
Boy this one has had it all!! First they're both within 10% in Q1, but the Cowboys
edge it.......by 1 yard!!!!! To the 2nd quarter and the Bengals fight back and are within just 3 o the magic 100 tally
and so at half time the Bengals lead 13-10. A 2nd half rousing for the Cowboys has them back in the lead with
another within 10% shout and this one is doubled up with the offence card. Job done then you would think leading
16-30 with just 15 minutes of play to go. This Bengals team however is not in the OFL Power Ranking top 10 for
nothing as they storm back in the 4th quarter with a double salvo of winning the quarter and hitting the perfect 2
minute offence. The Bengals tie this one up and we look like we're heading to overtime. Cowboys with the opening
drive and they take the ball to within just 15 yards. The kick is good an they take this in overtime! 4-1 for the
Cowboys!
GIN(3-2)…30@27…TOU(1-4) OVERTIME
Picture the Detroit Lions last week. At the 1 yard line celbrating a victory...only to have the TD overruled and the 10
second run off giving them no chance to continue and they've lost...........Replace them with the TouchdownTips
RedHawks in the OFL this weekend! It's a heartbreaker as they manage to bridge the gap in the 4th quarter with
their first ever bullseye hit in the OFL. That has them leading by a fieldgoal with just 2 minutes to play. The Maulers
are driving but they are stopped on 4th and 5 at the 40 yard line. They go for 3 with fieldgoal and it's GOOD! We
are all tied and so we go into overtime. The RedHawks are 56 away on their drive and have to punt, but the
returning play has the Maulers 36 yards from the goal line and on come the kicking unit again...it's up and it's
GOOD again! The Maulers win! The Maulers win! RedHawks drop to 1-4 in overtime.
RAI(2-3)…25@20…JOH(4-1)
It must take a champion to beat a champion I suppose and what a gigantic tussle this one has been befitting of our
last 2 Portno winners. The Colts FINALLY come up just short at the death in a match this season. As the Kansas City
Chiefs piled on the points in Texas last night the Colts were staring defeat in the face as it's that 7 point armoury
haul which has given the Pain a priceless victory in Indiana Field. The 11 game winning streak halted ironically by
the team who currently hold the all-time winning run record. Top match up.
THE(0-5)…0@31…ARN(0-4)
Where do the Flaming W's go from here? This was a Terminators outfit written off altogether by the press previews
and yet here they come up with their 2nd biggest win in their history. The Flaming W's headcoach will possibly
point to a blown playbook in 1st quarter and a high press in the 4th quarter too, but the Terminators won't mind
that as they win the battle of the 0-4 teams. THEWISH even manages to take a touchdown away from the
Terminators in this one but it matters not.

Wembley sees a blue night as the Tykes smash the Argonauts in the 1st half to lead 37-0! They then take their foot
off the gas in the 2nd half and the Argonauts make a game of it with 20 unanswered points back. Both back to
normal business next week as the Tykes host the 1-4 Goldhawks and the Argonauts host the Chargers. Talk
around Wembley has it that the Tykes only arranged this to give the Argonauts the experience of playing an NFC
East outfit so they were well prepared for next week. I believe the talk!
