OCTOBER 22
RAI…16@34…AWA
This is the week we may look back on and say the COWBOYS have made the seamless transition from LB1975 to
THEAWAYTEAM! Statement win and then some! The Colosseum may have held it's breath here for 3 quarters as
these two divisional rivals went toe-to-toe quarter for quarter, but as the 4th quarter ended it was an astutely
placed offence card in the that has sealed this most pivotal of wins. 6-1 for the Cowboys and they have daylight
between themselves at the top! Wow! It equals the best start ever for a rookie franchise set by the MACKINTOSH
EAGLES funnily who hailed from this division!
LAZ…10@37…JAY
With the Juggernauts piling on the points in the first 2 quarters here at Hell Highway, this was always going to be a
tall order to rectify anything for the 76ers. Despite a slight rally in the 3rd the Juggernauts most definitely put the
76ers 6 foot under here and that's now 3 losses on the bounce for LAZARUS. It would appear the NFC South has
fallen back to a few seasons ago where no one wants to win it! Only the Texan Tartans win this weekend in the
NFC South and no one sits with a positive record after 7 and if you're in the blue half of the OFL it's another
depressing red over blue win! The Juggernauts have to keep winning just to keep pace with those little slippery
lizards though in the AFC East.
JJ…13@34…ARN
Quarter 1 and Quarter 4 always looked a little doomed here for the JEDI KNIGHTS and even despite a quarter 1
prediction that was a little off for the Terminators they take full advantage with an offence card on it and don't
relinquish their grip on the win here and it's now 0-7 for the JEDI KNIGHTS and an equalling of the worst ever start
to an OFL season, though they are not the only ones this weekend with that uncomfortable stat against their
name.
SUP…17@38…HOG
Much like the JEDI KNIGHTS, the CONCORDES suffer from a little bit of playbook oversight in this one and you only
have to put one foot wrong in the OFL and you will be punished. The SWINES don't mind that at all and take full
advantage with another convincing win to make it 4 on the bounce now! Last time they did that was season 6. It's
also now 3 wins in a row at the Sty. The CONCORDES drop to 3-4 going into their bye week and fail to capitalise in
a week which sees the COLTS on a bye and the BEARS lose.
JIM…23@13…GIN
Ooh how much was this needed? Expect the Jocks to crow about this all week! The MAULERS were coming into this
one off the back of 3 straight wins and a No1 ranked prediction accuracy, but it's gone awry here. It's a big week
for the Texan Tartans as they are the only NFC South to chalk up a 'W' in week 7. Even at half time though as the
quarters were shared and the MAULERS took in a slender 13-10 lead to the locker room, the TARTANS would have
been quietly confident looking at the state of the second half play and so it would be that they would close out the
2nd half with the MAULERS only able to stifle TARTANS offence a little in the final quarter. Big week for the
TARTANS maybe, but it'll all mean for nothing if they don't make Independence Field secure once again.

Wait for it, wait for it! The Bearpit doesn't like this one bit, and especially not in this way! At half time the home
crowd was bouncing, up 20-7 against their most hated rival and looking like they were going to put clear and open
water between themselves and the pirates. They didn't bank on this second half coming then! The PIRATES almost
hit the bullseye in the 3rd quarter and get within a score and then it all comes down to the final quarter which the
PIRATES take too! The Bears fight back with an extra fieldgoal from the Jacksonville Jaguars running game and if
the Jags had hauled in just another 12 yards on the rush this would have been a Bears win in the most dramatic
fashion. Tonight though belongs with the Pirates and oh how they will lap this up! What will make this even more
sweeter is the fact that the Bears were riding a 5 game winning streak at the Bear Pit coming into this which was a
tied franchise record!
RJH…24@30…ABE
This one might hurt! Massive win for the A'Bombs at home against their big rivals and they halt the resurgent
Orangemen with another week 7 second half comeback and this win literally comes down to 1 yard! Yes Quarter 4
is separated by 1 yard between the two and it's the A'Bombs who come down on the right side. The A-Bombs
confirm the win with 2 big plays in this game. A 1st quarter stop to take points from the Orangemen and then a
fieldgoal from the Bills on rushing and these two are separated by 6 points.

All the hallmark of champions. Even the COMANCHEROS were gallant enough to applaud the 6ers off here and
rightly so with a truly stunning 2nd half comeback to maintain a superb start for the 6ers! The No1 AFC team go
from strength to strength and move to 6-1 in the AFC East. Even the Comancheros would have been forgiven for
thinking they had one hand on a big road victory here at half time as they led 21-6. This is a 6ers team who have
conceded only 3 points at home before this let us not forget. Quarter 3 proves to be the pivotal quarter though as
they hit a double touchdown salvo and trail by just a point going into the final quarter. With momentum on their
side they then haul in the touchdown and a fieldgoal in the dying minutes to maintain a perfect start at home! Top
play from the Wizards of Oz. Comancheros didn't play badly at all.
SEV…33@17…THE
(Take a deep breath and write this up under cover!). There were plenty of headlines to this before it kicked off.
FLAMING W's winless all season, BENGALS worse on the road than a Robin Reliant with only 3 wins in the last 25.
Something had to give. At half time it looked like the FLAMING W's had finally broken this rotten run of luck. Not
so. Even leading 20-9 at half time those second half predictions from the FLAMING W's looked flimsy and so the
BENGALS roared back....and then there's the armouries! The Dallas Cowboys have their biggest weekend of the
season rushing 265 yards to give the Bengals 10 points and the Steelers compound it further with 6 sacks and Ints.
You can't play better armoury than that from the BENGALS this weekend! Fine way to win your 100th game in the
OFL! Congratulations on the ton up SEVVY
CAR…10@24…UND
Another HUGE armoury play as the INDIANS take 10 away from the RIVERKINGS with the Jacksonville Jaguars who
are simply smashing the armouries this season! They strike no less than 10 sacks! INDIANS regroup this weekend
after the loss last weekend. A little low for the RIVERKINGS in quarter 1 had them chasing the game here.
RIVERKINGS are now 0-4 lifetime coming off a bye week.
TOU…34@13…BOR
Favourite on the road and the headcoach saw that as something of a challenge - which they duly rose to! It's the
best win to date for the REDHAWKS in the battle of the OFL Hawks here and the pain just continues for the
GOLDHAWKS. TT hits his 2nd bullseye of the season in the 1st quarter and streaks out to a 27-6 lead at half time.
From there it was just a case of keeping the nest safe. There's life in the young new redbird yet! The GOLDHAWKS
however look like roadkill at the moment!
TIT…10@34…BRU
Against the run of play it may be said, but the EAGLES have been close so many times this season this was coming
at some point - better still for the EAGLES it comes against a divisional rival. Already leading 20-3 at half time the
EAGLES soar with a further 2 touchdowns in the 3rd quarter and this one's done. It's now a 3 game winning streak
at the Bull Ring and it's only a 3rd loss in 13 for the Argonauts but it starts the 3 game road trip with a loss. Double
jeopardy for the ARGONAUTS as the COWBOYS win in the same week.
GMA…26@30…CHI
They're getting it done, but boy they are leaving it late in games. For the 3rd time this season the CHARGERS win it
in the 4th quarter and this one was close. The Chargers headcoach already moaning that his No1 team is not
putting games to bed. This one was the stuff of nightmares! Never separated by much more than 1 score between
them all through the game the CHARGERS put a game winning offence card on the 4th quarter to hold off the
Gmen! CHARGERS get revenge for defeat in the only other meeting of these two and capitalise on a Tykes loss in
week 7.
STE…20@30…DAN
Whatever he COWBOYS can do then boys? As the AWAYTEAM take down a former Conference champ and
Superbolbg champions, the BOBCATS take down the CURRENT NFC Conference champions and red overcome
blue again! A 23 point haul in the 2nd half the highlight in another commanding performance for the new
headcoach. Even a defensive hold for the BETHS BILLS on armoury can't thwart a big win here for the BOBCATS.
GJA…9@33…DEV
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! CHARGERS fans might have been biting their nails to the quick
watching their beloved at the Monkhouse this weekend, but the ticker tape score updates across the bottom of
the scoreboard were at least giving them something to smile about! This was supposed to be game 1 of a 2 game
stretch that would take the Tykes to an Eastern summit! HELLDWELLERS had other ideas. Tykes were obviously
getting a nosebleed so high up in the division! This is only the 2nd time the HELDWELLERS have beaten the TYKES
at Valhalla Park - the last time it was 35-0!
The CHARGERS headcoach was first to congratulate the HELLDWELLERS after the match. GJA1979 has been really
quiet today................

And so our AFCvNFC series of WEMBLEY EXHIBITION GAMES goes blue again and it's now 2-0 to the NFC after a
stunning 2nd half comeback from the PATRIOTS! It's a game of 2 halves as the COLTS run out to a 24-6 lead at half
time before the PATRIOTS finally muster some offence. 2 offence cards in play - only 1 makes it pay as the
PATRIOTS bag a double in the 3rd quarter, but the COLTS can't respond in the 4th with a similar play! Brilliant
comeback from the PATRIOTS!
